Tossed any bones for involuntary downgrade?

I fully understand that when I use an AONE ticket on a segment that doesn't have first class availability, I'm not entitled to so much as a free drink. But... I was booked in D on AA412 a couple of weeks ago, nice official ticket with D and OK written all over it, but dear AA oversold the front cabin, and tho' I was in plenty of time, everyone else was there ahead of me.

As the flight was over in the back too, the agent nicely protected me through SJU (in D on the SJU-JFK leg) but I stood by for 412 rather than take the delay, and in fact got on in coach.

If I whimper at the right AA person, are they likely to at least credit me with the biz miles?
