Am reviving this thread based on recent RTW observations:
CAI F lounge (shared) - you gotta smile... it is typically Egyptian, but it's pretty grotty. Even the Priority Club lounge next door looks better.
HKG The Pier / The Wing - makes you want to spend a day in HKG airport in its own right. Fantastic washrooms (some with baths), superb food/drink, great decor (not a hint of BA's Ikea-look furniture and tinned birdsong) and the most civilised smoking room ever.
MEL QF F / J lounge - Similar to the ones at SYD. Pleasant enough, though only one PC in the F section.
AKL QF F / J lounge - Smallish but adequate.
SCL LA lounge - Choice of two lounges (Neruda: nearest immigration/security, slightly smaller and now available for use by any pax willing to pay US $15), the other (can't remember the name) larger with a good selection of fresh juices, fairly basic business centre and smoking section.
LIM shared lounge - spartan decor but welcoming staff. Great open air smoking room (unless, of course, it's raining!)
GRU Admiral's Club - never thought I'd find myself grateful for an AC but it's the only OW lounge you can smoke in at this airport. GRU BA F / J lounge - F section is a smaller room within the main lounge. Both rooms pretty uninviting with identical food/drink in both. No smoking area. Be warned if on transit: no shower facilities in either lounge.
