I've had tasker for a little over 9 months, still learning what it can do.
I have close to 15 tasks set up on it however.
The following tasks are auto and I feel no need to create icons(Widgets) to control them.
Basic tasks like 'power saving' mode for night time(2x)
A couple app specific tasks, eg volume up/down on music player launch w/wo head phones or blue tooth.
Work Profiles(time/day based) so I don't have to think about muting/silent phone turning bluetooth/WiFI etc etc off. Yes I know it CAN BE done with GPS loc but that isn't always an option since GPS can drain the phone insanely fast in some cases. Besides once its all off how can GPS turn it on (I'm security conscious so GPS stays off about 98% of time anyway)
Auto respond to sms when in car mode, auto accept certain calls when in car mode. Read SMS's from certain people while in car mode, announce caller name/numbers in car mode
I've a couple profiles that auto SMS people when I get certain GPS locs, Nice to give them a heads up to let them know i'm at the airport or on the way home things like that.
I've an ahhh shiat battery is about dead profile, which basically turns the phone into survival mode(nothing on but phone and display turned way down) this mode has stretched a phone out from 45 mins to about 2.5 hours.

Tasks I've made icons(Widgets) for:
Battery status(displays battery %)
Wifi/Auto Sync toggle (for quick Checks of email while @ work or a plane)
Mobile Data/Auto Sync toggle (for quick Checks of email while @ work)
GPS/SMS/Mobile Data 'SOS' (for roadside emergencies)
Plane Mode ON (basically turns all transceivers off, lowers all sound settings)
Plane Mode off (reverses plane mode off, 2 separate buttons so there is no accidental turning the 'phone' on)
Meeting/Dinner mode (just to make sure sound and vibrate is off)
Outside mode (max out ring/sms volume + Vibrate) because sometimes you can't hear the phone ring while in the park at the range etc etc.

If you'd like any of them or tips/tricks let me.
