I just completed a four hotel one week run and found the following:

San Diego Gaslamp Marriott had the best toiletries by far, can't remember the brand but they were not the orange stuff and I really enjoyed them.

LAX Renaissance had the usual Aveda stuff, nice but mint isn't my thing -- personal preference.

Residence inn, I kind of didn't mind the Quince stuff, the soap lathers like crazy and shampoo was alright.

Plain old Marriott with the orange stuff, headed to the CVS down the block and grabbed some decent body wash and shampoo. Can't stand that orange garbage any more.

Hate to say it, but I like Davies gate toiletries (passable) better than the orange collection (garbage). I doubt Martiott will change though.
