Australian cameras are known for being dodgy as well as flashing you often for no apparent reason.
The fines are expensive and they do catch up with you eventually (even many years later from a friend who had a nasty time when the Sherrif came)
It would affect customs here in oz if it reached the enforcement notice part and may be denied entry again or Sherrif arrest on arrival. It can and does happen.
