- BA have made redeeming miles generally better for the people who are more willing to pay the big surcharges. This will encourage more redemptions, and thus, higher income from 'taxes and surcharges'.

- BA have (possibly) made redeeming a lot less attractive for those people who are used to paying very little in taxes. These people will probably just not bother redeeming.
