I see you are using internet 131 Eu rate..." Extra bed for your your son? - that would be 39 Eu (declined). Rooms were large but did not have enough furniture or decorations, so there was an empty feel. Drain in the bathtub did not work and the hotel was unable to fix it. Extra blanket in the room had some obvious stains.
Lounge provides some minimalistic hot food in the evening. On one of the nights, the menu was a soup, young roasted potatoes, and chocolate cakes. Cold offering included a cheese plate, fined chopped veggies, and salad leafs. Beverages included soft drinks, beer, red and white wine of 2010, and German sparkling. No hard liquor.
Breakfast is O.K. but the spread is much less than the restaurant offerings of this Westin or two of the Sheratons I stayed in Frankfurt. My son ordered an omelet and commented that "perhaps, they didn't have ingredients" to make it as he ordered. We were told to have a breakfast in the lounge only whereas Hilton suggested to use their restaurant "because the choice is better".
Overall, this Westin is O.K. to get a drink and some cheese in the evening and morning breakfast. But is does not appear to be anything special.
The lounge is actually very nice and offers, in typical European fashion, a bit more quality and not that much quantity. Made to order eggs on top of a typical continental breakfast incl. sparkling wine and very high quality teas are a nice touch. E.g. the Hyatt Regency Mainz charges for eggs in their Regency Club for breakfast

For dinner, quite often, the soup alone is really worth it. In typical European fashion, once again, the focus is on quality and the afternoon service is intended to serve as an appetizer and not as a full dinner, which is often the case in the US.

Suites are very hard to come by, the usual bunch of consultants and bankers stay there very frequently and the quantity of suites in the pool is not that high anyway, not to mention that people book suites there regularly as well.

Solid chances to get one, if you check in on Friday or Saturday with increasing odds for a Sunday check in. On working days, I would not count on it. The junior suites are very nice, though, Walter Knoll furniture, Bulgari toiletries, roughly twice the size of a room.

Coming back to Shareholder's original question, it is a 15 minute trip on the tram, which can be quite full during rush hour. Considering the covenience of the Airport Sheraton, this would be my preferred option, however last week ( due to the BTT rate ) the price difference was around Euro 100 in favour of the Westin Grand. C&P usually gives you a really good value for both hotels.
