Almost all the discussion I've seen of this topic centers around using the BA office in Cairo. Do a search of this forum and the AA forum and you'll find a lot of discussion.

From what little I know (from reading the Cairo/BA office threads) -
- it helps if you fax them your complete itinerary
- they will need to sight your credit card at some point; just giving them the number over the phone probably won't work.

If you make the reservations through the AA RTW desk, with the intention of having BA in Cairo ticket it, I'm not sure how well that works - no doubt, others can comment on that. I do know that when I set up a reservation using the AA desk, to be ticketed in Australia, their view was that I would have to use the AA office in Sydney to ticket it and not the Qantas office in Brisbane as "QF will have to re-do the whole reservation". Doesn't make a lot of sense, I know, but when I visited a contact in the QF office in Brisbane and got him to pull up the reservation, all the BA and QF legs showed up .... but all the AA legs (which were in the middle) just weren't there (didn't show). BA and QF use Amadeus (I think) and AA uses Sabre .... and apparently they don't interface/talk to each other very well. I ended up getting the AA office in Sydney to ticket it.

As for AA in Cairo, I vaguely recall some discussion that it isn't really an AA person in Cairo - rather some "local representative" .... the BA office seems to be the way to go. No doubt, many others can provide advice.
