I'm not sure I understand what you are saying... I don't see how SIN-MEL-AKL-SYD-LAX-JFK breaks the rule you are quoting.

SIN is in Asia
MEL, AKL and SYD are in SWP
LAX & JFK are in NA

what's the problem?
