I'm in the process of sorting a MONE4 from Cairo. (nice cheap 1-way flight there on Lufthansa for £134 + tax).

However, have tried both BA Reservations and a BA Travelshop here in London to book flights and send to Cairo office for pricing, and both have outright refused.

Am I doing something wrong? I think it'll be easier to phone cairo direct.

When booking an ONEx there doesn't need to be any discussion up front about ticketing, and nothing special has to be done to have Cairo issue the ticket. Give your itinerary to your friendly neighborhood BA rtw desk (!!!) and let them book the seats. Ask the agent for the record locator. Fax Mrs. Sobhi your details and a couple more faxes back and forth with her and you're done.

You will get points from Mrs. Sobhi if you fax her your itinerary also, with each leg clearly identified with respect to segment number (limit 20), per-continent count (limits 4-6 plus any extras you're buying), and stopover counts for Europe (max 2). You needed to have counted all that stuff up yourself, print out the table so she doesn't have to do the work over. Saves her ten minutes, I suppose, and earns you a friend in a good place to have one.
