The Concorde crash was caused by:
1. Hitting debris left on the runway by a damaged Continental Airlines jet.
2. Design flaws of the Concorde's tires and fuel tanks
The crash had very little to do with operational or maintenance safety by AF, and given what we know now, it is quite wrong to say that the Concorde was the world's safest plane.
