Sorry, but I have a heap of skepticism for any analysis of airline safety that minimizes accidents such as what happened with AF in Toronto and the plane that went down in the Atlantic. I would consider this a greater indice of safety than age or homogeneity of planes, and definitely number of employees.
Its not just AC, but Qantas was also noted for its absence, despite a very good record of safety (and no fatalities).
