Thanks for the response, AA doesn't fly this route so I would either have to join the BA program (AA partner) or Emirates (non AA partner) to accrue miles to be used for upgrades to business. This is why I'm looking to see if RTW tickets would work so I can keep my status with AA instead of starting from scratch with another program.
