To be more specific, time is extremely tight at the end of the trip with needing to get back to work (CPH).

So that what we were looking for was an easy one day (can even be 8 hours) stop-over. Obviously HKG is an option, and could do the late night MEL-SIN-HKG but was trying to see if there were cleverer options.

MEL-NRT-HKG would have been good until I realised there is no F service from Australia to Japan.
