So I tried to do some searches and could not come up with any clear answer. I am trying to use a friends upgrade certificate (paper) for my flight to Hawaii in December. I checked the seat map and FC is completely empty however there is no U next to the fares. Funny thing is my return has first class seats already taken but I can upgrade that flight.

Anyone have any idea as to when they might release the U inventory for my outbound? Or have had any past experiences as to when they release them. Its from San Diego to HNL.

At the given time I am just checking every day to see if the inventory has been released.
