Found the rack of gift cards at cub today. There on display was the master card g.c. promo. I took a picture of it but I do not know how to enter a picture here. But as the OP pointed out, its there.

I brought the display as well as the gift card to the fast lane check-out supervisor, asked her how it worked? She said I would just get the $5 off next visit coupon when I scanned it. She thought I could just do it at the fast lane.

Decided to test the waters while I was there. Grabbed a peach for a snack and the gift card, fast lane check out; no-go, System errored - gift card activation cannot be done at the fast lane. Supervisor said, here, I'll just do it at the supervisors desk. Rang it through then realized she didnt have a coupon printer there, so she just gave me the $5 back in cash.

I used the Citi AA"amex" for purchase and do not see pending transactions online (unless someone knows where else to look on citi's site?), but also I do not anticipate any cash advance issue.

One just has to remember to go through the regular check out, but easy breezy.

MC amounts in $25, $50, and $100 I did not see any others, if they had the range ones ($25-500), that would be another option.

Other cards available were VISA and AMEX for the various set amounts and range amounts to be put on of $20-500 I did not test those waters.

MC gift card, $5 coupon off next purchase good until Sep 10, 2011

Since I did not get a coupon back I could not tell you, but someone may in theory be able to use the coupon back toward another gift card purchase? Recycling so that the $50 cards net you an additional 5cents each time, or the $100 amounts cost you 95cents at time of purchase.

For me today, it cost me 95cents.
