Hey everyone,

I called AAdvantage yesterday for a one-way award ticket from Beijing, China to Taipei, Taiwan (asia zone 2 to asia zone 2) with Partner airline Cathay Pacific and Dragon Air. Was quoted 15k miles at first, but then when the rep tried to process the award, it jumped to 30k (15k for PEK-HKG, 15k HKG-TPE), some reason would only work as individual segments even though it should be considered a stopover as there are no other direct flights offered. The rep put me on hold to confirm this, and came back saying 30k was needed.

I was able to get an award 15k one-way from Shanghai to Taipei a few months ago. Did I get lucky that time, or is something wrong this time?
