I always declare it (always visit a farm when in the UK), and coming back I've had everything from walking across disinfectant mats during FAM outbreaks [in high heels which I did point out were never near an animal! while boots which were, although I had cleaned them myself, remained in the suitcase], to absolutely nothing at all. The most oft asked question is what type of farm, what animals, and where in the world.
