The wisdom based on recent changes on the majors' FF progs (QF, AA, BA) is that discount econ is pretty much un-rewarded by FF progs. Most give you 0/25% of miles.

But I had a quick look at the AY freq flyer prog and their table of earning rates:

On most OW airlines M class gives you 100% miles. That's a great deal. IN fact for some reason even the cheapest AA fares (L) earn 100% miles on AY (while more expensive N fares only get 50% - anomaly?). AMAZING. Maybe I myself should think about switching to their program.

Now I don't know about their status level achievement threshholds - someone else may elucidate. But OW is OW right?
