The CR9 bulkhead is not a happy place for me, I'm a big lad and whilst I fit in there, it's quite tight. I also can't get the tray table safely over me. 2A/C was occupied.
If this would happen to me I would file a complaint and request for the respective compensation according to the EU regulation. No need for a voluntary downgrade by yourself.
Here is the link to the seat map:
http://www.lufthansa.com/mediapool/p...rdier%20CRJ900
It clearly states:
"In Business Class the seat next to you will not
be occupied. You can choose either the window
or aisle seat."
The comfort of the seat was already Economy and you havenīt been transported in Business Class. Lufthansa canīt expect that you "enjoy" Economy Class comfort for a ticket priced +400 GBP.
Positive side effect: Changing to a smaller aircraft will get expensive if all of the 4 pax seated in one row claim the refund. Otherwise Lufthansa could develop such a strategic measure than using smaller aircraft and offering economy Class only.
If I would be you I would claim for a refund or compensation and let the fellow FTers know about the result.
