Sorry if this has been asked and answered, but I can't find it with a quick search.
Trying to put together a RTW (to actually visit places, not just a mileage run

) and the Global Explorer just doesn't have enough miles, BUT we really want to go to Easter Island, so... is it possible to ticket SCL-IPC-PPT (surface) AKL then pickup again.
The relevant sections of the starfile would appear to be:
Routing:
8N . 1. TRAVEL MUST BE VIA THE ATLANTIC AND PACIFIC
9N . OCEANS. ONLY 1 CROSSING OF EACH OCEAN IS
10N . PERMITTED. TRANSOCEANIC SURFACE IS NOT
11N . PERMITTED.
95N . 8. INTERMEDIATE SURFACE SEGMENTS PERMITTED
Does the IPC-PPT flight count as my transpacific crossing (going from S America to SWP by oneworld's definition), and therefore make the PPT-AKL just an intermediate surface segment ?? Has anyone tried this already ??
Many thanks for any information / opinions, educated or not
