LA601/L600 is one segment as it is a single flight number. You get the miles EZE-LAX

Your LAX transfer has to be less than 24 hours (mine in the opposite direction is 23:55) You may be obliged to take the next available flight be that AA or BA and not wait say 6 hours for a flight. This seem to depend on the TA writing the ticket

You seem to be maximising miles
NRT-JFK-ORD-SJU = 9566
NRT-DFW-BOS-SJU = 9675
This still leaves the one cross continent flight allowed

ORD-ANC = 2842 miles
BOS-SJU = 1686 miles
