You cant blame poor BA for the weather, they can't control it. Codswallop, if you want to enter into or survive in the airline passenger transport industry you had better factor The Weather into your business plan. If that means you have to add 20 euros to the cost of every flight so you can afford to live up to your legal responsibilities, then so be it. If that causes people to stop flying with you and you go bust, so be it.

BA, either stump up to the full extent of your legal obligations or make arrangements to get people back home. Hire more aircraft, construct a bombproof airport, build a fleet of helicopters, I dont give a stuff how you do it, that's your business not mine.

There are c. 85 hurricanes, tornadoes and cylones every year, more than one per week. Coupled with half a million earthquakes and 16 million lightning storms. These dont affect my business so I dont make previsions for them in my business plans or budgets. Here's a thought, make a prediction based on past performance about how much The Weather could cost your business, make a prevision in your financial forecasts, and if they dont happen, you get an unexpected windfall (no pun intended) at the end of the financial year.

If you cant afford to operate legally and ethically then step aside and let others with a more realistic view of meterology and aviation stand in and take your place at the table
