Most of the time when I need to buy an extra segment in an OWE I pick a short hop and buy it in coach. Last year QF ticketed us and their rate desk insisted that I had to pay the extra-segment fees for the chronologically fifth and sixth SWP segments, which happened to be booked in D, instead of a couple of earlier coach segments.

Has anyone had similar experiences?
