Things have changed since I last posted to this thread, but it looks like I might pick up on this again this fall, and wondered if the gurus in here could provide a bit help with the following part of the rules from the OW website:

"Please note you may need to travel through a hub city to get to your desired destination."

Given a ticket originated in Europe, does that mean that JNB-HKG permits you to travel JNB-LHR-HKG even if CX flies JNB-HKG? Similar for JNB-SIN, which is not directly connected by a participating airline, would JNB-LHR-SIN be an allowed routing?

And if someone has a set of current rules so I could read the gritty details myself, that would be great.
