QF announced on Aug 16 that "within 3 months" the first of the reconfigured 744s (with A380 style J seats) will be flying, so there is some chance of it being used on your flight if QF no longer sells F MEL-HKG-LHR. But last time I checked F was still for sale, which would preclude using the newly configured 744s on this route.
