If you had a confirmed F ticket that was downgraded, the schedule change department can open up Air Canada revenue J seats for award redemption. Keep escalating it up to a supervisor if the first person says no.
That is only true of an Air Canada sched change, not true when driven by another airline change. If anyone owes you flexibility it is LH and I don't expect them to help.
