A couple of additional caveats.
- In the case of E+ access, the companion and elite do not need to be on the same PNR BUT the elite needs to be in economy. The companion can not be placed in E+ after the elite has been upgraded.
- In the case of UDU, the companion needs to be on the same PNR (and preferable only a two traveller PNR). The upgrades before the airport/gate will be based on the elites status and both will or will not be upgraded together. At the gate, it is each traveller on their own individual status and possible only the elite will be upgrade (which can be refused).
