Was check in quick and efficient? Yes, used kiosk
Did you use priority security (if eligible) and if so, was it quick and efficient? Used departure level security at YYZ. Entered priority lane which took me to front of the line. CATSA agent continued to direct the standard security line until it was empty, then directed me to what seemed to be the longest line. Overall wait approx 15 min.
Did you use the Maple Leaf lounge and if so, any feedback in regards to service, food and drinks? Yes, crowded and noisy which seems to be the norm for an early Friday evening.
Was priority boarding offered (if applicable to your status) and efficient? Yes and no. Automated Final Boarding call was played first (clearly in error). Then preboards for small children, E/SE/*G, and rows 20 and higher all in immediate succession afterwards. Boarding area was a zoo with the confusing announcements. Economy line moved quicker than priority line. (Suggest that the priority lane should always direct to the remote podium, rather than beside the counter, but that's just me)
If there was a delay, did the gate agent provide timely updates? Yes and no. 1930 departure time, checked status online and left lounge at 1910. By the time I arrived at the gate 3-4 minutes later, boarding had not commenced. By 1920, the inbound a/c started deplaning and the board was updated with new departure at 20:00 and GA made PA annc. Frustrated as I would have gladly spent an extra few minutes in the lounge, and clearly the late inbound was not a surprise that it was running late.
Onboard - J cabin:
Were the crew professional & well groomed? Yes
If there was a delay, were you provided with timely updates? Yes, baggage was delayed in being loaded.
Was the IFE activated on the ground? No, not until after original departure time. Newspapers were distributed, then IFE turned on approx 10 min prior to pushback.
Was a pre-departure beverage offered on the ground? Strangely, no. Lots of extra time due to baggage delay, boarding had completed, 2-3 FA's gathered in front galley.
Did crew offer to hang your jacket? Yes
Were newspapers & menus distributed and meal orders taken (Please specify when meal orders were taken - on the ground or in the air)? Menus were available but seemed to be in short supply. 1/2 cabin received menus on the ground, orders taken on ground. Menus "recycled" to other 1/2 cabin, orders taken in air.
Did crew offer a hot towel prior to the meal service? Yes
Approximately how long after take off did it take for the first meal service to be completed? (From takeoff to all items collected) It was unusually long. Two hours easily. Even beverage service took extra time to after take off.
How was the quality of all the meals? Not great. Clearly the entree was overcooked, as the pilaf was burned to the plate itself (consistent with my observation that the meals were taking longer to serve overall). I received a particularly poor piece of Chicken - catering anomoly.
Did the cabin crew continiously top up the beverage of your choice throughout the flight? No. Wine glass empty on two separate occasions. Ordered cocktail with dessert, never came. Took water offering, ran empty, and glass was removed. 5 min after water glass was taken, FA walked through with Disani bottle for refills, but no empty glasses.
