yet another owe question - ignore if you have a low boredom threshold...
I have read about 117 threads about the OWE, and just have a couple of questions (for now!) -
Looks like a DONE5 is quite a bit cheaper ex-Egypt rather than ex-UK (like £1900 !), so thinking that we can maybe use award tickets on BA to get to Cairo, spend a week looking at pyramids, maybe doing some diving, then get the tickets and use the first leg to get home. Am I correct in thinking that I have to finish the RTW in Egypt ? (plan would be to use the return of the reward tickets to get back to the UK). Is there any problem there with nested tickets ?
And how do I actually go about buying the ticket ? Once I've decided the routing, can I call BA (for example) and confirm the ticketing, then just turn up at the ticket counter at CAI and they issue the ticket there ? Or some other way ?
Thanks in advance.
Stewie
PS this is for May/June time, and is *not* a MR - had enough of Ken and his congestion charge !!
Sorry, just thought of another question while checking the fare rules:
Is the flight connecting each continent counted as one of the 4/6 segments available within the continent ? If so, can you chose to take it from the continent of origin or arrival, or is it fixed ? In addition, if routing SA-NA-SouthPac (as a second trip to NA but allowed as a transit ONLY) does that second SA-NA segment come from the SA or NA entitlment (or if the connecting flight is on top of the segments, is it a freeby) ?
Finally, am I correct in reckoning that flying US-Hawaii and breaking the flight there before continiuing onto Oz, that the US-HNL flight is part of my six NA segments ?
Thanks again
(edited to ask a load more questions)
