Your alternative is to choose aisle/middle or middle/window. Given that there is probably a 98% chance that the person in the middle would gladly switch for either an aisle or window, the worst case is you end up with aisle/middle or middle/window anyway. And the chances of a middle being left empty are much greater then either of the other two.
So why not give it a try? Very, very small chance you'd end up apart.
