I realize that joining OW doesn't equate to a JV with AA. However, my point about WS "growing up" still stands.
They should focus on building their network, attracting business pax with a better overall hard product, and joining OW(thus JV with AA). With these items in place WS would be better able to compete against the AC/UA JV in whatever form it takes.
I personally won't fly WS to or within Canada, as I would rather earn AA miles to Canada or UA(AC) miles within.
WJ is already one of the most profitable airlines in the world. If growing up means growing into a business that always loses money like most of the North American airlines with business class , lounges and hot meals I don't know why they'd bother!
