I've flown both LH and TK in Y long haul multiple times in the last couple of years. They both have superior Y service for a European airline. TK had the best food I've had in Y but LH is better organised. IST is easier to transfer in than FRA. So I concur that with a big price differance it makes sense to go with TK.
