DTW-ACC* (Ghana) at the end of April.
ACC-DTW* at the end of May.
DTW-HKG anytime between July/August
HKG-LHR at Sept. (stay until summer 04)
LHR-???

-------------------
AA/CX award 1: DTW-HKG-SYD
OWE1: SYD-Europe-ACC
OWE2: ACC-DTW-NA
OWE3: DTW-HKG-asia
HKG-LHR RT cost about $600-800;
finishe your OWE and award SYD-HKG-DTW....

i know this doesnt solve your problem, as it would involve another RT ticket and perhaps put too much time between dtw&acc.

perhaps you could just issue an award DTW-LHR-ACC on BA
(i.e. your option 3)

1. BA Econ award DTW-ACC (75k* miles)
2. after DTW-LHR-ACC-LHR, starts OWE4 in UK-NA-Asia-Pacific-UK
[consider starting your OWE in AMS/CDG, it should be pretty cheap to get there from London]
3. Save the last award segment for future use (change fee $100) or discard

the advantage of this is you get a number of RT based on DTW during your NA portion of OWE
