Incidentally, the 747 slide is not for the faint hearted. Having scrummed down against South African props I'm not easily spooked, but the 747 slide is a huge way up and it takes some bottle to go down it. Unless you see it, it's difficult to put it into words. So I have enormous respect for the BA staff who routinely have to go through this training. Though I guess you'd get an adrenaline rush afterwards!
And something for those in UD to bear in mind: if there is an emergency I would not want to be old/frail and pushed out down a very long slide.......
They are the bits that scare me. I am not a theme park person. But in real life if you are in danger you will be surprised what you can do.
