Is that just on the 747 slide? A few years back BA use to invite GCHs to have a session at Cranebank, so I've been down that 737 slide and just went flying off the edge as far as I recall.

Incidentally, the 747 slide is not for the faint hearted. Having scrummed down against South African props I'm not easily spooked, but the 747 slide is a huge way up and it takes some bottle to go down it. Unless you see it, it's difficult to put it into words. So I have enormous respect for the BA staff who routinely have to go through this training. Though I guess you'd get an adrenaline rush afterwards!

And something for those in UD to bear in mind: if there is an emergency I would not want to be old/frail and pushed out down a very long slide.......
