It's nothing new. The only reason that the Indian gov't keeps throwing cash at AI is because of the massive employment that AI has. The more people get employed, the better for Indian politicians. Honestly, no alliance has anything to be scared of - AI upgraded their IT system to comply with alliance requirements, and they aren't going broke anytime soon (the day they cut jobs is the day that they lose funding and they seem to know that) and their in flight is good. And it gives member airlines of the alliance a lot of leverage with GoI.
