Hi,

I'm new to this forum. Was hoping the travel experts here can help in my dilemma. I would like to invest in luggage for business/personal use. As a backgrounder, I'm a 30-something female. Looking for light, durable, well-designed/organized luggage, comes in colours other than black and brown. Business trips are international (mostly Europe & Asia), possibly 4 times a year for 3-4 weeks. I bring 2 suits, the rest are combination of slacks & blouses.

When doing long-haul flights, I normally have 3 items:
1) Designer Purse - for personal items such as travel wallet, make up, phone, journal, etc.
2) Wheeled carry on - for work laptop & files, toiletries, clothes for 2 days (in case my check in luggage gets lost), other important personal items
3) Luggage for Check In - work clothes, shoes, gifts, etc. good for at least 2 weeks before "recycling"

My questions are:
1) What luggage would you recommend given my needs & requirements above? - I've used Delsey & Samsonite in the past. Would like to give Briggs & Riley a shot, my fear is it may be too heavy once filled with clothes?
2) What's an ideal size for the luggage check-in?
3) For those travelling for 1 month, do you do the same? Or do you prefer to travel with 1 big luggage instead?
