Wife and I just got back from 3 nights at the Renaissance Eden Roc Miami Beach. Overall a very positive experience. Here are the details:
- 3 nights at the Government Rate ($104), ocean view room with balcony in new tower. 15-20 minutes from Miami Airport.
- The room was very nice, spacious, and well designed. Modern bathroom that has sliding doors so you can look out at the beach while in the tub or shower. There was a fridge (empty) which is nice, and free internet for gold/plat.
- check in was quick. the lobby is beautiful with bar in the center.
- we had a rental car and valet parked the first night ($35) but parked in the lot next door the next 2 nights. Valet can get busy during peak times but they are working fast!
- The parking lot (city owned) is a 1 minute walk from the hotel. The meters are $1.50 per hour and enforced from 8am to 6pm, so max $15 per day. You get a ticket from a machine (takes bills or credit cards) and put it on your dashboard. You can buy 1 ticket for the day, and come in/out all you want. After 6pm, no ticket needed. You do need to get up in the morning and put a new ticket in by 8am, though. If the beach is really crowded (e.g. weekends) it may be tough to get a spot between 10a-5p.
- Nothing immediately around the hotel except the beach and the Fountainbleau resort.
- South Beach is about 2-3 miles south. Taxis are plentiful if needed, and buses run frequently.
-We did not eat at hotel but there is a nice looking restaurant there.
- 4 nice pools, and a 2 minute walk to beach.
- fitness center is good.
- The staff was very friendly and helpful. No issues.
- Things are expensive, but it is Miami Beach, so it is expected.
