I'm looking on how to maximise the mileage on an OWE in Europe and have this:
LHR-DXB-LHR-ATH-LHR-SVO-LHR.
In case I do this, but actually origniate from e.g. Denmark, can I buy a seperate ticket for CPH-LHR-CPH so that I don't burn segments on that short hop?</font>
This trip has lots of problems.
1. You have three destinations that have limited access from the UK. You can go to only one of these: DXB, ATH, SVO for free from the UK as part of a OWE.
2. If you are originating in Europe you cannot buy the two extra segments you need to do six segments in your continent of origin.
3. If you originate in CPH to get a lower fare you cannot buy a ticket outside of your OWE to go to LHR. You must originate on your OWE ticket in CPH and terminate the trip in CPH, also.
4. The suggestion about originating in HEL is a good one as the restrictions to DXB, SVO and ATH are all from the UK, not elsewhere. However, you will still be limited to four segments in Europe if you originate there.
In general, the two best available distance runs from LHR are to DXB and IST.
