That's right. As long as they're under 23kg you're fine. I often pack out my skis/board with my ski jacket, salopettes, jumpers, socks, hats etc. This helps spread out my luggage and acts as protection for my equipment.

I also take my ski boots as hand luggage. I've known people be so on the limit with weight they've considered wearing their ski boots for the flight.
