Why? Ryanair is a private business, and it's free to choose whom it will and won't do business with and on what terms. People who don't wish to abide by those terms have the option of another carrier.
Correct, and let's be honest their numbers, fleet size and route network are pretty impressive as well.

Having had to fly with them recently it wasn't actually as bad as people make out.
