My office is a block away, so while I've never stayed there, I can assert the following:

1. Views are going to be no good no matter where your room is located, except maybe for high rooms on the west side might have a view of the Willis Tower. It's just a nature of what the building and the neighborhood was before.
2. If you don't need in-and-out for your parking, the cheapest 24 hour/day garage within walking distance is just west of the hotel on Adams - it's probably $37/day now weekdays. But, many garages downtown on the weekend are as low as $11/day.
3. Street parking east of the hotel on LaSalle opens up at 6pm Friday through 6am Monday, no charge.
4. For dinner/nightlife, the 151 bus (pick up on Jackson, 1 short block south of the hotel) will deposit you in the Water Tower area on Michigan Avenue very easily. On the return, ask the driver to drop you off at the Wells CTA stop on Adams and walk a quarter-block back to the hotel.
