Starting and ending in MGM could introduce a major complication. You actually want to do this:
Outbound: MGM -> DFW (AA) -> SFO (AA) -> HKG (CX) -> BKK (CX)
Inbound: BKK -> HKG (CX) -> SFO (CX) -> DFW (AA) -> MGM (AA)
To do the outbound on 1 all-partner award, CX must have a published fare for MGM -> BKK
and your itinerary must be consistent with the routing rules of that fare.
Similarly, to do the inbound on 1 all-partner award, CX must have a published fare for BKK -> MGM
and your itinerary must be consistent with the routing rules of that fare.
