For our Spanish speaking customers, please enjoy this letter from our CEO

For months I have noticed that Delta is kind enough to translate Richard Anderson's highly informative open letter to us, the customer, into Spanish. I am assuming this is for the Spanish speaking travelers, although I suppose it could be there to show me how little I remember from my Junior High Spanish classes. Each time I see this, my thought is:

Really? Why bother?

Of all the pages in the magazine, the one you translate is the PR page? Does someone at in-flight or marketing really think a passenger will pick it up and say " thank you Delta for providing me with this interesting and informative page in my native language"? Frankly, it would make sense to translate the in-flight entertainment pages that feature movies in Spanish. Or the EATS menu page as it might lead to more sales.

But then, given the JV partners, why not provide it in French and Dutch?
