I appreciate that those of us who actually fly to earn are finally getting a relative advantage over the credit card churners, coin collectors, CD buyers, program partner mile transferers etc.
You know you've made a good decision when you see so many grown ups whine so much and grasping at straws to justify their indignation at your closing a loophole that should have been closed long ago.
I agree with every word you wrote.
People who actually fly thousands of miles with AA will requalify for elite status year after year, and get their bonus miles, priority check-in, etc. What does LT Gold or LT Plat mean to someone who qualifies, year after year, for Gold or Platinum
by flying AA?
After all, Mr Pickles proudly states on his blog that he is LT Plat but has never once set foot on AA metal. It bothers me, a little, that after years of loyally flying AA whenever possible, I am "less elite" than Mr Pickles who has never plunked down a dime for an AA ticket.
Like many, I had no clue the LT Gold program even existed until I crossed the MM threshold and got an email congratulating me. Hey, great, something to show for YEARS of putting butt in seat!
