I have the same question having been switched on the BA207 (LHR-MIA) as an AA codeshare due to a schedule change. This is my first BA UK-USA flight after 16 years exclusively on AA (around 300 TATL flights). Currently in 28J but 29K is also available.
I was in 30 k on the mid J 744 in April. If I recall correctly 29 k doesn't have a seat in front of it just as 28J. 29 K is next to the window and the wall curves in a bit in front of the seat.
