I'm not one for government regulation, but this is an area where I think the government should kick FR up the backside and mandate that any government issued ID such as a UK photo-driving licence is an acceptable form of ID for a domestic flight.

I also remember reading that servicemen were being denied boarding with their military ID which in turn helped validate my own decision never ever to fly Ryanair.
