There is that option as well.
If you start the activity then you expect the company to continue the activity. I cant see what the problem was & his phone was working where he was.
For one, the cost.
And, secondly, if you feel strongly enough to request a call after a certain date, you expect that to be obeyed.
I agree that it's a minor inconvenience, but it still shows a lack of care/attention to detail
