Just a detail: Aeroplan is not supposed to be AC any more. I don't think Aeroplan can touch our points even if AC gets upset at you.
AC could either (1) take you to court, which they obviously won't, or (2) refuse to sell you tickets. Which they won't either if only because it's difficult to implement, and probably also because the marginal income is still good to grab.
